Thomas Beckett your on-the-prowl ghost cat here. The Inn of the Six-Toed Cat has really been feeling the lazy days of summer. Tomorrow brings Summer on the Square in Corydon, IA. There are 3 more left – July 7, 14 and 21. If you don't know, this is a free concert series not to be missed. What with food, music, people selling home-grown produce and did i forget my favorite part?....Dessert! I think I am definitely going to have to check this out followed by the Ole Time Soda Fountain this weekend in Allerton. It is nice to have a fun nostalgic place to go to right down the street from the inn.
A couple days ago we celebrated the 4th of July. I moseyed on down to Corydon with Linda, Kay and Celeste to the Prairie Trails Museum of Wayne County to hear their guest speaker, Becky Bell-Greenstreet. She was sharing memories of her dad, Al Bell, who brought the far off places of the world to life for thousands of rural, Iowan, school kids from 1949-1979. I think Celeste was wishing she could have seen one of his assemblies, and Kay and Linda were wishing they had grown up here too.
Well, as Mr. Bell would say, "This is a grrreeeeaaat day!" And with that I am on my way to the Square.
May your catnaps be long and fanciful & your catnip strong!
